About Us
My husband and I have a small hobby farm on 10 acres, located in North Central Washington State, specializing in rare poultry preservation and breed development.
I own & operate Rare Feathers Farm™.
My primary mission is the preservation and development of rare poultry breeds. It is very difficult to find the time and resources to do this, let alone excellent quality stock to use as breeders. None of my birds are hatchery stock. Hatchery birds are bred to mature quickly and produce lots of eggs. Hatcheries focus on quantity while ignoring or over-looking breed standard to mass produce chicks. I focus on quality and strive for perfection towards the standard for each of the breeds I raise. Please keep this in mind when ordering rare breed (non-hatchery stock) eggs.
